  • Girl Scouts

    Open to all girls, Kindergarten through 8th grade, Girl Scouts operate on the principle that girls grow, learn and have fun by making decisions, doing and discovering for themselves. It is dedicated to inspiring girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service so that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.   • Boy Scouts

    Open to all boys, 1st grade through 8th grade, scouting gives boys a great opportunity to develop the character and skills they need to become well rounded young men. With emphasis on Family, God, and Country, Cub Scouts learn to do their best while doing for others in their community.   • Altar Servers

    All boys and girls who are practicing Catholics and members of St. Lucy Parish, from Grade three and beyond who are sincere in the service of God and responsible for serving schedules are invited to train as servers. Being a server means SERVING GOD and His PEOPLE at Mass and liturgies. Serving is a special call from God and is a very important part in the life of the St. Lucy Parish.

  • Student Council

    Student council consists of elected fifth through eighth grade students who, through their academic and social development, have exhibited leadership qualities. The Council creates opportunities for each and every student to share more fully in the life of the school.

  • Religion Club

    An after school opportunity for students in grades 1-5 to learn more about the catholic faith and prayer through fun activities and service.

  • Scholastic Challenge

    Each year six representatives from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade participate in Scholastic Challenge. They compete against other Catholic schools in jeopardy like competition. The winning team receives 100 in savings bonds to St. Catherine’s High School.

  • Kiwanis Math Contest

    The Kiwanis of West Racine sponsors a Math Contest for 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students in our Catholic Schools. The test is written by the Racine Area Catholic math teachers. The test is divided into two parts; the first being an individual test, the second a cooperative team test.

  • Battle of the Books

    An opportunity for students in 4th and 5th grade to compete with other in a reading incentive program. Students read books and come together to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books they have read.

  • Phantom Ranch

    On overnight opportunity and student favorite experience where 6th grade students attend an overnight retreat at Phantom Ranch Camp in Mukwonago, WI.

  • Music Lessons

    Private piano lessons can be arranged through Ms. Nowak. Band instruments are taught to 7th and 8th graders during the school day at St. Lucy Parish School by Mr. Keith Ruelle from St. Catherine’s High School. Band instruments will be offered to 7th and 8th graders. For more information please contact the school office.

  • Hand Bell Choir

    Available to all students, grade 5th -8th… students interested in handbell choir practice weekly during school and performs during daily mass and at many all-school functions.

  • Children’s Choir

    An after school activity available to all students and parishioners, Grades 2-8 to practice with others, strengthen and showcase their musical talents, and participate under our musical director during Sunday mass.

  • Athletic Programs

    A variety of opportunities for both boys and girls, including basketball, volleyball, track and field, cheerleading…. Open to all students, grades 5th through 8th. See our Athletic Association website for more details on the many opportunities and tournaments hosted throughout the year.

  • Honor Roll Recognition

    Both A and B honor roll students in Grades 5 through 8 have their name published in the Racine Journal Times each quarter, and are recognized during special ceremony at daily mass, followed by a reception in the school cafeteria.

  • Community Service Projects

    Several times a year, classrooms help prepare casseroles for the local soup kitchen, collect food, coats and toys for those in need, send care packages to support our troops, have competitions among classrooms to support Sr. Irene’s overseas missions in the Philippines, and take part the 10,000 step march to support Aides awareness.

  • Memorial Day March

    The last Friday in May is started with a celebratory mass, often presided by a local bishop, followed by a march of the entire school, led by our Principal and Pastor, to Pritchard Park for a Memorial Day ceremony, including speakers, songs, salutes, and snacks! Definitely a student favorite and a memorable tribute to all who serve!

  • Discovery World

    Beat the winter blues by signing your student up for a hands-on, 6-week, after-school science adventure… brought directly to our school by Discovery World in Milwaukee. All students, Grades 1-5 are eligible to participate.

  • Computer lab & instruction and classroom smart-board technology

    St. Lucy offers state of the art instruction on laptop computers with wireless technology that allows us to bring the computers to the students. Several of our classrooms are also equipped with Smart Boards that allows the students and teachers to interact and learn.

  • Bi-weekly Student Liturgy

    All students, grades 1-8 are required to participate in daily mass at 8:10 am each Tuesday and Friday. Many parents take advantage of this time to join their children and start the day off right. Students are continually challenged to serve as choir, percussion, readers and servers during these masses.

  • Accelerated Reader Program (1st through 8th grade)

    Students work with teachers to set individual goals for reading great books… from the classics, like Goodnight Moon and The Adventures of Tom Sawyers, to student favorites like Junie B and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Then, they test their comprehension through a computer-based test program. With customized goals and thousands of titles to choose from, no child is left unchallenged.

  • SLASH After School Help (Gr. 4-8)

    St. Lucy's After School Homework club meets Tuesdays from 2:05-2:50 where several teachers are available to give individual attention to students needing a little extra help on their homework, or those just needing a focused time to get their work done.

  • GRADEBOOK access to track student’s homework/progress

    All parents of students, grades 4 through 8 are given a user ID and password to computer based GRADEBOOK, which gives them daily access to their student’s progress and status of homework, quizzes and tests… including missing assignments!

  • Wisconsin Science Olympiad

    Any interested students in grade 5-8 can join this after-school club which is designed to bring science to life, to show how science works, to emphasize problem solving aspects of science and teamwork! Students meet twice a week after school to understand the competition's events and prepare for the olympiad. The event usually takes place on a Saturday in early April at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
